Creative process

Cabinetmaker and furniture restorer by training, he has worked for the last 20 years in a self-taught way, initially beginning with wooden and metal assemblies recovered from nature, fields and rivers. He then turned to  sculptures whose material is worked, all of which are created by the process of "carved painting." His works are mainly in 3D and take the form of bas-relief painting.  Materials and objects recovered from nature are still part of his works, although they are not as prevalent as they used to be.

« The atmosphere of my creations is established by the characters that are living in my mind. »  He sculpts the interior of humans more than their external image. It is their moods, their states of mind that interest him. There is also a desire to tell a story by the iconographic representation of figures, situations and symbols. « The subjects of my paintings come from my personal experiences and how I deal with them, of the feelings I have living them. »

« My style expanded under the influence of many factors, such as the stations of the cross of the church of my village, my interest in shamanism, and many years lived in solitary, in sparsely populated lands. Music and walking have always been my main sources of inspiration, nourishing my mind and generating the initial spark behind most of my works. »
